A Roof That Sheds the Snow and Stays Put.
We install metal roofs on homes across the Mohawk Valley, with the same care we bring to commercial buildings: every edge, valley, and opening detailed so water and ice stay out.

Why metal
Why Metal Roofing Suits Upstate Winters
Long winters, heavy snow, and constant freezing and thawing are hard on any roof. Metal handles them well.
A metal roof is made of large panels with few seams, so there are fewer places for melting snow to work its way in. The smooth surface sheds snow instead of holding it, which keeps weight off the roof and gives ice less time to build up at the eaves.
Metal also doesn't absorb water, crack in the cold, or lose granules the way asphalt shingles do as they age. Many homeowners choose it because they want a roof they won't have to think about for a long time.
How long any roof lasts depends on the material, the installation, the weather, and how the roof is maintained.
- Sheds snowLess weight on the roof and less chance for ice to build up at the edges.
- Fewer seamsLarge panels leave fewer places for meltwater to get in.
- Stands up to freeze and thawMetal doesn't absorb water, so it doesn't crack as it freezes.
Choosing your roof
Metal Roof Styles We Install
We install ribbed metal panels on most homes, with standing seam as an option. The right one depends on your house, your budget, and the look you want.
Pole barn and Quad Rib panels
Ribbed panels screwed directly to the roof, a durable and economical choice that suits farmhouses and outbuildings as well as homes. The screws and their washers need checking over the years.
Standing seam (optional)
Panels joined by raised seams, with the fasteners hidden underneath. It gives a clean, modern look and keeps fasteners out of the weather.
During the inspection, we'll talk through what suits your house and show you the options side by side before you decide.
Step by step
Our Installation Process
A metal roof is only as good as its details. Most leaks on metal roofs start at the edges, valleys, and openings, so that's where we take the most care.
Before the work starts, we'll agree on the schedule, where materials will go, and how we'll protect your yard, plantings, and driveway.
Free roof inspection
We inspect your roof, photograph what we find, and talk with you about style and color.
Written proposal
You get a written proposal with your options within 24 to 72 hours of the inspection.
Prepare the roof
The old roof is prepared or removed, and any damaged decking is repaired before anything new goes on.
Install underlayment and panels
Underlayment goes down first, then the panels, with flashing at chimneys, vents, walls, and valleys.
Clean up and walk it with you
We clean up the site and walk the finished roof with you.
Questions
Metal Roofing FAQs
Is a metal roof noisy when it rains?
Usually not. Over a solid roof deck and an attic, a metal roof is generally about as quiet as a shingle roof. The loud "tin roof" sound people remember comes from metal fastened over open framing, as on a barn or a porch, where nothing absorbs the sound.
Will snow slide off a metal roof all at once?
It can. A smooth metal roof sheds snow much more readily than shingles, which is one of its benefits, but snow can come off in large sheets. Over doors, walkways, decks, and driveways, snow guards hold the snow in place so it melts off gradually. We'll point out where your house needs them during the inspection.
Can a metal roof go over my old shingles?
Sometimes. We install metal over the existing shingles or tear off first, depending on what your house needs. Going over the old roof hides the condition of the deck underneath, so we'll look at the existing roof and explain the trade-offs before you decide.
