Meet Ephraim Zook, Owner
Ephraim Zook has more than 10 years of roofing and construction experience. Ephraim runs Shield Roofs the way customers deserve to be treated: with honest communication and a willingness to work with the owner on the problem they actually need fixed.
Over the years, Ephraim has heard the same story from too many building owners. A contractor did their roof a few years ago, and when someone finally climbs up to look, the work is poor. Sometimes the owner was never told what was really done. On one tear-off, the owner had been told there was a single layer of old roofing under the last job. There were four.
Those experiences shape how Shield Roofs works. Ephraim's approach is simple: ask the customer what the problem is, track down the real cause, and explain it clearly enough that the owner can make a good decision.

How We Work With Building Owners
Whether you manage one building or several, here is what working with Shield Roofs looks like.
- We listen first. Before anyone climbs a ladder, we ask what you're seeing inside and out, when it started, and what has already been tried.
- We look at the whole roof. The free inspection covers the full roof surface, with a check of the seams, flashing, drains, and penetrations, not just the spot above the stain.
- You see what we see. Problem areas are photographed, so you can review them yourself and share them with your partners, board, or property manager.
- You get options in writing. Your written proposal arrives within 24 to 72 hours of the inspection and lays out your choices in plain language.
- We tell you when you don't need much. If a small repair will do, the proposal says so.

Conklin Certified
Shield Roofs is trained and certified by Conklin Roofing Systems. Conklin makes the coating and restoration systems we install, and its training covers how each system is meant to be prepared and applied.
That matters because a coating is only as good as the work underneath it. Cleaning, repairs, primer, reinforcing fabric at seams, and the right thickness of coating all have to be done to the manufacturer's standards for the system to perform.

Depending on the roof system, Shield Roofs can offer up to a 20-year material warranty backed by Conklin Roofing Systems, with maintenance plans available.

We explain the warranty that applies to your roof in your written proposal, before any work begins, so you know what is covered and what keeps the coverage in place.
